Conversation is the theme of "Colloquium," an art exhibition opening Nov. 22 at The University of Akron.
Featuring works by 17 senior graphic design students in the UA Myers School of Art, "Colloquium" runs through Nov. 30 in the Project Gallery and upper and lower atriums of Folk Hall, 150 E. Exchange St., Akron. The closing reception is Nov. 30, 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Folk Hall. The exhibition and reception are free.
"Every day we use our bodies, voices and technology to communicate, sometimes consciously and sometimes not," says "Colloquium curator" Markus V. Vogl, a new faculty member in the UA Graphic Design Program. "The goal of "Colloquium" is to explore verbal and nonverbal communication that takes place between people by making use of various media such as computer animation, flat work, sculpture, verbal interaction and more."
Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call 330-972-6030 or visit "Colloquium".
