Russian winter wonderland setting for UA Dance Institute benefit

02/23/2010

A Russian winter wonderland awaits guests of Pointe to the Future 2010, a benefit for Dance Institute of The University of Akron, on Saturday, March 13.

The guests will enter UA’s E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall through the private stage door and step onto the glittering stage set for the royal court. Cocktails and an auction begin at 6 p.m., followed by a state dinner at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by the Russian tradition of classical ballet, the evening includes performances by Dance Institute students.

Francia Holliday Albrecht is the guest of honor. The dress is fanciful, fun and suitable for dancing with the czars. Crowns, tiaras and tuxedos optional.

Tickets begin at $80. For more information and to receive an invitation, contact the Dance Institute at 330-972-7949 or cfoisie@uakron.edu.

Pointe to the Future raises funds that support programs for all Dance Institute students.
