More tips and advice
- Looking for a job? Check out our on- and off-campus job postings. You'll need to know if you're eligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS) before applying for on-campus positions. Check your financial aid award in MyAkron to see if FWS is part of your financial aid award.
- If you have accepted your loans in My Akron but they are not appearing as anticipated aid, check your To Do list in My Akron. If you still need to complete Entrance Counseling and/or the Master Promissory Note, you'll see that listed there. Complete both at studentloans.gov.
- Financial aid cannot be credited to your student account until 10 days before your first day of class. For example, if your classes start on Aug. 27 and you've completed the requirements for your subsidized and unsubsidized loans, the funds will be credited to your student account on Aug. 17 — no earlier.
- Until that date, the loan funds will appear as "anticipated aid" when you look at the "Account Inquiry" under the Finances section of the Student Center in My Akron.
