Described by Jennifer Durning of The New York Times as a “lush and hurtling force of nature with a brain,” dancer Alexandra Beller is coming to The University of Akron to talk about her work on Monday, April 5.
Free and open to the public, the program begins at 6 p.m. in the Albrecht Studio of UA’s Center for Dance and Theatre at Guzzetta Hall, 139 Buchtel Ave. It is sponsored by the UA School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration’s Paul A. Daum Visiting Artist Series.
Audience members are also invited to a free, pre-lecture reception at 5:30 p.m. in the lower lobby of the UA Center for Dance and Theatre. The reception will include remembrances of Daum, a longtime theatre faculty member and benefactor at UA who died in 2005, as well as the opportunity to meet Beller and Robin Prichard, the newest faculty member in the UA Dance Program.

Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company from 1995 to 2001, she performed in more than 50 countries and throughout the United States.
