Family-friendly 'Carnival of the Animals' and 'Rite of Spring' at UA April 18
Bring the family for a delightfully different afternoon when musicians and dancers from The University of Akron combine their talents to perform "Carnival of the Animals" and "Rite of Spring" in the intimate setting of the Stage Door at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, 198 Hill St., on Sunday, April 18, at 2 p.m.
Narrator Alfred Anderson, pianists Philip Thomson and Mayumi Kikuchi, dancers from Dance Institute and Dance Program, Alan Bodman, Matt Dudack, Kristina Belisle Jones, George Pope, and special guests Brian Thornton, Ann Smith and Sue Yelanjian will join in the fun.
Advance-sale tickets are available at the Thomas Hall Ticket Office and by phone at 330-972-7570. Tickets will be sold at the door if seating is still available. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for seniors, UA faculty, staff, alumni and parents of current UA students, and $5 for non-UA students. Admission is free for UA students when they show their Zip Cards. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Audience members can reach the Stage Door through the blue door on Hill Street. Free parking is available in the Thomas Hall Parking Deck and in the North Campus Parking Deck one block away on Buchtel Avenue. The performance is presented with support from The Kulas Foundation and The Gilbert W. and Marguerite H. Dilley Performing Artist Series.
