Akron Polymer Training Center offers problem-solving program
A problem-solving training program using the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, otherwise known as TRIZ methodology, will be offered by The University of Akron Polymer Training Center May 23-24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The training program teaches attendees how to approach conflicts and analyze problems effectively. Class participants learn to identify underlying conflicts, trade-offs and contradictions; use separation strategies; eliminate low-value components; and reach goals.
The course is designed to help employees in all fields become more innovative and competitive and is particularly useful to engineers, scientists, managers and researchers working in areas of new product development, research and development, engineering, manufacturing, marketing or supplier management, according to instructor David Troness, a principal industrial and management systems engineer who has taught and used TRIZ for more than 15 years.
Program cost is $835 and discounted to $99 for UA employees. It includes course materials, continental breakfasts and lunches. For more information, call 330-972-8661.
