The annual Choreographers' Workshop introduces new works produced, costumed and choreographed by UA dance students.
The University of Akron Dance Program presents Choreographers' Workshop 2011 on Oct. 13-15 at 8 p.m. at Daum Theatre in Kolbe Hall, 328 Buchtel Common, on the UA campus. All proceeds support scholarships for talented undergraduate dance students.
Tickets are $7 and are available at the door one hour before each performance. Bring two canned food items and receive $2 off of admission. Items will be donated to the Akron Food Bank in support of its commitment to provide emergency food to our neighbors in need. For information, call 330-972-7895.
An annual event, Choreographers' Workshop introduces new works produced, costumed and choreographed by UA dance students. From ballet to modern, tap to jazz, the program features original, creative pieces of every style, performed by students of the UA Dance Program.
The Dance Program at The University of Akron is one of the two largest programs in Ohio, and has been listed among the top 28 "most sought after dance programs in the country" by Dance Spirit magazine.
