The hors d'oeuvres prepared by UA's Garde Manger Club for the 2010 event offer a hint of what diners can expect this year.
Renowned alumni chefs of The University of Akron's Summit College hospitality management program, will offer a night of culinary delights at the fourth annual Graduate Chef's Showcase Dinner Saturday, Nov. 12.
The event, which takes place at UA's Crystal Room Restaurant in Gallucci Hall, 200 E. Exchange St., also includes a cash bar during appetizer service.

The eight-course event begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres prepared by Garde Manger Club students led by Chef Richard Alford, associate professor emeritus of hospitality management.
Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and features such gourmet dishes as chipotle adobo-marinated chargrilled flank steak with orange potatoes, goat cheese and smoked cumin cream-and-cilantro pesto. Other selections, including chicken paprikash over noodle cakes accompanied with deep-fried pierogie garnish and caramel apple beggar's purse, are preceded by sorbet tastings. Dinner also includes three wine pairings.
Featured chefs include John Bush of CEC Regina Health Center; Susan Geul, executive pastry chef of the Kent State University bakeshop; Aaron Hervey of Crave; Joe Schmeltzer, senior instructor, Copley High School; Anthony Scolaro of Westfield Center; Brad Smith, Copley High School junior instructor; and Dan Remark, Maplewood Career Center Culinary Arts instructor.
