Incoming students can vie for scholarships in hospitality competition
The University of Akron Hospitality Management program is teaming up with the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau to reward three high school seniors interested in attending UA’s Summit College with $500 scholarships.
The top three winners of five Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Hospitality Lodging competitions — Meeting Event Set-up, Hotel Linen Operations, Creative Banquet Table Design, Lodging Career Investigation and Hospitality Showcase — will receive scholarships. The competition takes place Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Quaker Square Inn at The University of Akron.
FCCLA is a leadership and community-service based organization that hosts annual skill competitions in various career fields.
