Pass the popcorn! The Paragon Brass Quintet will join with silent movie expert Todd Fiegel for a musical Foolish Film Fest at the Stage Door of The University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall on Sunday, April 1. The multimedia musical mischief and mayhem will begin at 3 p.m.
Paragon Brass Quintet, a faculty ensemble-in-residence at UA, has a long history of performing April Fool's Day concerts. The ensemble includes trumpeters Scott Johnston and Jack Brndiar, trombonist Ed Zadrozny, hornist Bill Hoyt and tubist Russ Tinkham.
Refreshments, including movie concession snacks, will be available for purchase. Tickets are available in advance from the Thomas Hall Ticket Office at 330-972-7570. Tickets are also available at the door if seats remain. Doors open at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for seniors, UA faculty, staff, alumni and parents of current UA students; $5 for non-UA students; and free for UA students who show their Zip Card.
Free parking is available in nearby parking decks and surface lots.
