Employers from business, health care, nonprofit and engineering fields will recruit prospective employees at The University of Akron’s Career Fair. The fair takes place from 10:30 a.m to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb 18, at the UA Student Union, third-floor ballrooms.
Sponsored by the University’s Center for Career Management (CCM), the fair is limited to UA students and alumni. CCM Director Kathleen Powell advises attendees to dress professionally and to bring several résumés to the event.
“Alumni and students from all majors are encouraged to attend and meet with our employers,” Powell says. “This is a great opportunity to search for co-ops, internships, or part- or full-time employment.”
CCM has scheduled preparation seminars to help attendees get the most out of the career fair. These seminars will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb 15, in Room 316 of the Student Union, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Room 308 of the Student Union.
