Playing more than 20 instruments during a performance, Iron Toys will be in concert on Sunday, Feb. 21, 3 p.m. at Guzzetta Recital Hall, 139 E. Buchtel Ave., at The University of Akron.
The program will include classical, jazz and avant-garde works. Saxophone/woodwind quartet Iron Toys was founded in 2004 and includes well-known Northeast Ohio musicians Rich Shanklin, Howie Smith, Tom Reed and George Shernit.
Tickets are $10 for general admission; $8 for seniors, UA faculty, staff, alumni and parents of current UA students, and $5 for non-UA students. Admission is free for UA students when they show their Zip Cards. Open seating. Tickets are available in advance from 330-972-8301 or concerts@uakron.edu and at the door if seating is still available.
The Feb. 21 performance by Iron Toys is part of the Kulas Concert Series, the UA School of Music’s signature concert series supported by the Cleveland-based Kulas Foundation.
