Keith Boykin, a leading commentator on politics, race and sexual orientation, will speak at The University of Akron on Monday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall’s Stage Door venue.
Boykin is a frequent commentator on CNBC and host of the BET talk show, “My Two Cents.” He is the author of three books, including “One More River to Cross,” a New York Times best-seller about being black and gay in America. The veteran of six political campaigns and editor of the Daily Voice news Web site, Boykin attended Harvard Law School with President Barack Obama. He also served in the White House as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton. At the time, he was the highest-ranking openly gay person in the Clinton White House.
