Gen. Colin Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State, will speak as part of the 2009-10 University of Akron Forum Series on Monday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall. Powell’s talk is sponsored by Thomas Hall, the Dorothy Garrett Martin Memorial Delta Gamma Lectureship on Values and Ethics, and UA’s Honors College.
In his lecture, “Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust and Values,” Powell will describe the delicate process of forging alliances, bringing people and countries together and promoting universal human ideals of democracy and peace around the world.

In its 15th season, The University of Akron Forum Series brings major speakers to the University and the Northeast Ohio community. The series is supported by the Office of the President and the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost. Public Talk Radio Host Diane Rehm will deliver the final UA Forum Series lecture of the season on Wednesday, March 24.
