DeVol to discuss Akron's position in the knowledge-based economy March 11

Ross DeVol, director of regional economics for the Milken Institute, will present, “Akron’s and Ohio’s Position in the Knowledge-Based Economy: Charting a Course for the Future,” from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, at The University of Akron’s Martin University Center. A reception will follow his talk. UA’s Department of Economics and Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics are sponsoring the event.

DeVol and the Milken Institute are known for groundbreaking research on technology and its impact on economic performance. DeVol’s most recent work focuses on the commercialization of university-developed intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on biotechnology and the role of “intangible” assets.
