Jennifer E. Blickle was appointed to The University of Akron’s Board of Trustees by Gov. John Kasich for a term effective Dec. 4, 2012 and ending July 1, 2017.
She replaces Judge Jane Bond, who left her position on the Board earlier this year.
Blickle is an active civic leader and an engaged alumnus of UA. She graduated in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology/audiology.
Her family is steeped in UA tradition: her late father, John Pope, received his degree in mechanical engineering in 1943, while her mother was actively involved in campus life; her husband, John Blickle, earned a BS in accounting in 1973 and a JD in law in 1977; three siblings and a daughter-in-law also attended the University of Akron.
Jennifer Blickle has been a trustee of the Akron Community Foundation and is a sustaining member of the Junior League. She has advised two students through Collegescholars, Inc, a mentored scholarship program benefiting disadvantaged Akron students.
She and her husband have supported UA through philanthropy focused on scholarships, athletics and the School of Law. They are the parents of three adult children.
