Geena Davis
You have seen Geena Davis in the blockbuster movies "Beetlejuice," "A League of Their Own" and "Thelma and Louise." See the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning actress in person on Monday, Jan. 30, at The University of Akron’s E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall as part of the 2011-12 Forum Series.
In addition to her successful acting career, Davis is a director, musician and world-class archer. She founded the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, a research-based organization that works within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate and influence the need for gender balance, reducing stereotyping and creating a variety of female characters for entertainment targeting children 11 and under. Davis channels her experience, intelligence and energy into what is set to be an inspiring, entertaining and enlightening evening.

In its 17th season, The University of Akron Forum Series brings major speakers to the University and the Northeast Ohio community.
