Statistics is the discipline that deals with the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. It can be applied to a wide array of academic areas, from biology, chemistry, and anthropology to geography, political science, and sociology. Because it is used as a basis for logical, informed decisions, statistics has wide application in the public and private, profit and nonprofit sectors of society.

Statistics, B.S. 

Statistics - Data Science, B.S.

Data science is an inter-disciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from many structural and unstructured data. Data science is related to data mining, deep learning and big data.

Statistics - Actuarial Science, B.S. 

A degree in Actuarial Science enables careers in models, and measuring risk, and determining the price of various insurance products. Subjects of study include Distribution of the Risk, Law of Large Numbers, and Central Limit Theorem. Rolls are expanding into non-traditional risk managements

Accelerated 5-year BS/MS Degree in Statistics

At UA, you can complete a bachelor’s and master’s degree in as little as five years. During your senior year of select bachelor’s degree programs, you will complete coursework that counts toward both the bachelor’s and master’s degree. So, you can earn both degrees in as little as 5 years instead of the usual 6+, while realizing significant financial savings.

A Master of Science in Statistics is traditionally completed in 2 years. Students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds find value in studying statistics beyond undergraduate classes. Assistantships are available for full-time graduate students.
