LATN 101 - BEGINNING LATIN I

This course will cover the first 10 chapters of the Oxford Latin Course. Students will develop their ability to read Latin, understand the underlying grammatical basis and learn basic Latin vocabulary. Students will also gain an understanding of how Latin words influence English words and will enjoy learning some Roman History and mythology.

LATN 102 - BEGINNING LATIN II
4.00 credits
This course will cover chapters 11-20 of the Oxford Latin Course. Students will develop their ability to read Latin, understand the underlying grammatical basis and learn basic Latin vocabulary. Students will also gain an understanding of how Latin words influence English words and will enjoy learning some Roman History and mythology.
Pre-requisites: LATN 101 or equivalent.

LATN 201 - INTERMEDIATE LATIN I
3.00 credits
In this course, we will cover chapters 21 – 30 of the Oxford Latin Course. Students will develop their ability to read Latin, understand the underlying grammatical basis and learn basic Latin vocabulary. Students will also gain an understanding of how Latin words influence English words and will enjoy learning some Roman History and mythology.
Pre-requisites: LATN 102 or equivalent.

LATN 202 - INTERMEDIATE LATIN II
3.00 credits
Students will develop their ability to read Latin, understand the underlying grammatical basis and learn basic Latin vocabulary. Students will also gain an understanding of how Latin words influence English words and will also develop their ability to read the poetry of Ovid and to appreciate the poetic artistry of his work, including meter and poetic devices.
Pre-requisites: LATN 201 or equivalent.
